Poison Ivy- Toxicodendron radicans (Rhus radicans)
admin
Poison ivy is one of the native plants that you should know- even if you don't know any other plants. Common around water sources, it causes severe skin irritation when touched or brushed against.

This is why I put this video up- because everyone should know what poison ivy looks like- and apparently you don’t.
Boxelder is Acer negundo- similar in the fact it also has leaves of three- but they have larger more erratic teeth at the margins of the leaves and the leaves are not shiny on the top. Boxelder is also a tree- not a herb or a bush.
This comment reminds me how absolutely rude people are. Why curse? Does it seem appropriate? We are talking about plants here- not Compton.

I’m one of the lucky few who has no reaction to it, but I still avoid touching it because the oil from the plant can transfer from your hands and clothes to doorknobs, etc, and then people who do have reactions to it will be affected. And many people have more than an itch reaction to it, swelling and burning and sometimes oozing pus.
